This is a very new activity that we would like to offer. From watching the Easter egg hunt success over the years with our friends and family, we thought it would be nice to organize hunts adapted to the age of the children. A way to make them explore the bush, in an educational way. Depending on the age of the children, they will either need to be accompanied by an adult or will go on an adventure on their own. Therefor, the hunt needs to be booked at least a week before arrival and the age of the children known. Hunts will be set for an average of 1h30 search, but they might take longer or choose to pause and restart later during the stay. Children going alone will be given a walkie-talkie for an all-time contact. They can start the hunt anytime of the stay during daytime. Along the hunt, they will find snacks and drinks, a map, riddles, puzzles and of course a treasure! For children from 3 to 16 (and up) years old 3-6 Children 1h30 : R1500 per hunt

Hiking alone on the 37km trails of the area is free for the guests of the lodge. You will discover breathtaking landscapes and encounter the great diversity of wildlife in the area. The trail is well marked but you may also download the interactive map directly on your phone for more accuracy and freedom on the trails.

Walking with a guide will ensure you will learn about the various plants, animals, geology and history of the area. Our guided walks are in English or French.

  • Incredible home for a full holiday experience. All your senses will be blown away: the landscapes and animals are amazing, you will taste freshly produced vegetables from the garden, you will have the opportunity to drive/walk/horseback ride at the heart of the park, and listen to the sound of a quiet, secluded area. On top of the cake: the most beautiful view of the night skies and stars you could ever imagine. Great for discovering, opening your mind and get closer to nature. Great GREAT hosts, super comfortable contemporary architect house. Back to the roots with luxury comfort: who would dream of a better way to spend your holiday?

  • Blown away by Witklipfontein game lodge, just 1h30 from Joburg, by Parys. Total reconnection with nature in this beautifully designed and planned ecolodge. Not only the house is built to fit in with its natural environment but the area is an heritage site surrounded by hills made by a huge meteorite millions years ago, the vegetable garden is stunning and simply delicious (tasted and approved), the children got a taste of farm life petting goats and of bush life spotting zebras, bucks and giraffes, the owners are so kind and friendly. Un coup de coeur!
