Witklipfontein is one of the original farms of The Vredefort Dome, a Unesco World Heritage site.
The Huyberechts Family acquired the property in 2013 driven by their dream for a farm in Africa and a desire of going back to nature and the essentials of life. Since then they worked tirelessly at adding to this Eden of nature a generous vegetable garden a decent house for the workers that served as prototype for the Lodge.
With 215 hectare of diverse scenery of plains, hills, a kloof, a spruit and dams, the farm is of breath-taking beauty and tranquillity instilling a sense of peace and wellbeing.
The place lives and changes to the rhythm of the seasons. The life abundant green summer with its occasional welcoming rain contrasts with the dry and yellow winter, its stark light and crisp temperatures.
This place is just a little paradise on earth. It's a wonderful place made with a total respect for the nature. On top of that Do & Dam's are wonderfull hosts. Don't miss a chance to enjoy a stay at the Witklipfontein !
This spot is a gem ! The design of the house is wonderful, and respectful of the nature. The host are very friendly and will give you access to the Garden... delicious vegetables. I can't recommend enough this place. If you like to watch the stars... then it will be a paradise for you.
Incredible home for a full holiday experience. All your senses will be blown away: the landscapes and animals are amazing, you will taste freshly produced vegetables from the garden, you will have the opportunity to drive/walk/horseback ride at the heart of the park, and listen to the sound of a quiet, secluded area. On top of the cake: the most beautiful view of the night skies and stars you could ever imagine. Great for discovering, opening your mind and get closer to nature. Great GREAT hosts, super comfortable contemporary architect house. Back to the roots with luxury comfort: who would dream of a better way to spend your holiday?
Blown away by Witklipfontein game lodge, just 1h30 from Joburg, by Parys. Total reconnection with nature in this beautifully designed and planned ecolodge. Not only the house is built to fit in with its natural environment but the area is an heritage site surrounded by hills made by a huge meteorite millions years ago, the vegetable garden is stunning and simply delicious (tasted and approved), the children got a taste of farm life petting goats and of bush life spotting zebras, bucks and giraffes, the owners are so kind and friendly. Un coup de coeur!
